1. Summary

Conversation Navigator helps users organize, search, move, rename, map, and delete their ChatGPT conversations. It runs on chatgpt.com and does not operate an extension-owned cloud service. The extension processes information needed to provide its features and keeps extension-managed organization data inside the user's Chrome profile.

2. Data processed

Depending on the features you use, the extension may process:

  • Chat titles, identifiers, URLs, timestamps, project membership, and message content.
  • ChatGPT project names and identifiers.
  • Extension-created folder names and chat-to-folder mappings.
  • Interface settings, including theme, sidebar position, and sidebar width.
  • Operation status needed to complete actions such as moving, renaming, or deleting a chat.

The extension does not request payment details, health information, precise location, contacts, or access to websites other than chatgpt.com.

3. Local storage

Folder definitions, conversation-to-folder mappings, and interface preferences are stored in chrome.storage.local. The locally searchable conversation index is stored in extension-owned IndexedDB. This information is associated with the Chrome profile where the extension is installed.

Backup limitation

The extension currently has no built-in cloud synchronization, backup, export, or restore service for its local organization data. Uninstalling the extension, clearing its stored data, deleting or resetting the Chrome profile, or storage corruption may permanently remove this information.

4. How information is used

Information is used only to provide and improve user-facing extension functionality, including loading the conversation library, building a local search index, displaying folders and projects, generating conversation maps, and carrying out actions explicitly requested by the user.

The extension communicates with ChatGPT from the chatgpt.com page to retrieve or modify the user's ChatGPT content. Those requests remain subject to OpenAI's terms and privacy practices.

5. Selling, advertising, and sharing

The developer does not sell user data, use it for advertising, use it to determine creditworthiness, or transfer it to data brokers. The extension does not send conversation data to an extension-owned analytics or application server.

Information is disclosed only when the user directs the extension to communicate with ChatGPT to perform a requested feature, or when legally required.

6. Retention and deletion

Extension-managed information remains locally stored until it is replaced, removed through the extension, explicitly cleared by the user, or removed by Chrome. Deleting a ChatGPT conversation is a separate operation that affects data held by ChatGPT and may not be reversible.

To remove all local extension data, uninstall the extension or use Chrome's extension data controls. Before doing so, remember that the current version cannot restore local folders or mappings.

7. Security

The extension uses Chrome Manifest V3, restricts host access to https://chatgpt.com/*, and packages executable code with the extension. No system can guarantee absolute security, but access is intentionally limited to the permissions needed for the described functionality.

8. Children's privacy

The extension is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect children's personal information through an extension-owned service.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the extension's capabilities or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are published.

10. Contact

Questions and privacy requests can be sent to chatgptworkspacemanager@gmail.com. Users can contact the extension through Instagram or submit a technical report through the project's GitLab issue tracker. Do not include private conversation content, authentication information, or other sensitive data in a public issue or social-media message.
